Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.

But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

My Thoughts:

To Evie her life is just as normal as any teenager's. Capturing bad guys, watching teenage drama shows, having a best friend who's a mermaid, and working for a top agency that tracks down evil creatures, and having an ex-boyfriend who will never leave you alone, also seeing through all paranormal creature's glamour, and falling for a shape shifter, who's also a prisoner. Yep life couldn't be any more normal than Evie's. Until one day a disturbance that causes a scare through out her paranormal world, never knowing that she is part of it. Who knew instead of capturing evil creatures, she's meant to take their souls instead.
Paranormalcy is a different kind of book. Sure you have your vampires, werewolves, and other living paranormal creatures, but the thing is it doesn't just focus on one specific creature like most tiring paranormal books do now a days. It focus on different ones while also adding new ones and adding more abilities to some creatures, which I love because reading the same subject but different plot can be tiresome at times. I loved the character's especially Evie's mermaid friend, which I forgot her name, but that's okay most of the significant people who deserve rememberance are never remembered, sadly. Everything just fits perfectly from the action, relationship drama, friendshipsand the teen flirty dialogue. It wasn't forced or just slapped in to slap in, it felt natural. The plot was pretty good, except the ending. The ending was cute don't get me wrong, it's just that I was expecting a cliffhanger to make me anticipate the next one instead of say oh this was a good read, I wonder when the next book will come out, and then grab for the next book available to me. Besides the having any cliffhanger at the end, I'd say this book was 4 out 5. If you love sarcastic, but cute dialogue, stalker fairies, and kick butt action then this is a read for you. To express how much I enjoyed it i'm going to put two quote's from the book that I thought was really cute.

Quotes:

"Yes, I have a driver's license"

I leaned back against the wall, sighing. "Man, that must be so cool."

"It ranks right up there with lockers. In fact, sometimes I put my license inside my locker, and it's so cool I worry that the whole thing might explode with the sheer coolness of it all."
-Kiersten White (Paranormalcy)

"Lish tried to swear--which is always funny, because the computer won't translate it. It went something like this: "Bleep stupid bleep bleep faeries and their bleep bleep bleep obsessions. He had better stop bleep bleep bleep the bleep bleep rules or I will bleep bleep bleep the little bleeeeeeeeeeep."
-Kiersten White (Paranormalcy)
